OUR PHYSICIAN

Gaurav Arora, MD, MS, AGAF is fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and fellowship-trained in Advanced Hepatology from Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California.


Dr. Arora is board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons – St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He also holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Clinical Research from Stanford University.


Dr. Arora earned his medical degree from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, widely regarded as the premier medical school of India. In addition to English, he speaks fluent Hindi.


Prior to founding Texas Digestive Care as an independent solo private practice on March 1st, 2021, Dr. Arora was the director of Denton Digestive Care, which he founded in 2013 under the auspices of Texas Health Physicians Group, a part of Texas Health Resources.  Before that, he was an Assistant Professor and faculty gastroenterologist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he continues to serve as a volunteer faculty.


His advanced training includes radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s esophagus, removal of large colon polyps and complex stricture dilation in the esophagus. He is also proficient in rubber band ligation procedure for the treatment of symptomatic internal hemorrhoids. 


Dr. Arora is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGAF)- an honor bestowed upon select few for superior professional achievement in clinical private or academic practice of Gastroenterology. He is a member of American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for  Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy and Texas Medical Association. He also serves as the Chief of Gastroenterology at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
